Neighborhood: Uncategorized

Attention students of philosophy, literature, journalism, life:

Mr. Beller's Neighborhood is looking for an Editorial Associate.

The position is unpaid and part time. Candidates must be able to come to our office in downtown Manhattan for an interview sometime in the September.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in the urban sketch in its many variations--the personal essay, the vignette, the profile, as well as reportage. An interest in those events and goings on in New York City that occur in the margins, that don't usually make the news, is a must. Responsibilities will include reviewing and editing submissions to the website as well and soliciting work from writers. Other responsibilities will include working on the summer reading series, Park-Lit, that Mr. Beller's Neighborhood sponsors along with the NYC Parks Department, and helping organize the monthly reading series that Mr. Beller's Neighborhood sponsors at Mo Pitkins on Avenue A.»

Please send CV and/or an explanation of who you are and why you want to do this, to:

editors@opencity.org

Thank you.

Thomas Beller
